Hawaii: the State of Clean Energy. Tonights show will highlight an interview with Ryan Wada, President of Quality General Inc. Ryan will be talking about the 2008 Hybrid PV and Lighting project that Energy Industries completed at their Aiea facility.

EI's PV installation at Easter Seals Hawaii was recognized by HECO as the 20th MegaWatt of PV installations on Oahu under the Net Energy Metering (NEM) program. The Hybrid Energy Program consisted of the 61 kW PV system and an efficient lighting retrofit combined to offset 87% of the facility's energy usage. The PV system was installed at no upfront cost through EI's Non-Profit Energy Pathfinder program.

A significant Energy Efficiency "Win-Win-Win" project for Gebbers Farms of Brewster, WA, the Environment and Energy Industries. This project will reduce Gebber's utlity cost by over 2,000,000 kWh per year, offset 1,600 tons of CO2 annually and 50% of the project cost will be funded by incentives, USDA Grants and EPAct 2005 Tax Deductions. The project has an overall simple payback of 3.0 years.

In continuance of EI's long term relationship with First Hawaiian Bank, we have been contracted to increase the efficiency of the air conditioning at the Maite, Guam facility. This first phase of energy efficiency work will focus on the cooling towers, air handling units and vending machines. The project will provide over 85,000 kWh of electrical reduction and provide an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) over 40%.
