Hawaii: the State of Clean Energy. Tonights show will highlight an interview with Ryan Wada, President of Quality General Inc. Ryan will be talking about the 2008 Hybrid PV and Lighting project that Energy Industries completed at their Aiea facility.

EI's PV installation at Easter Seals Hawaii was recognized by HECO as the 20th MegaWatt of PV installations on Oahu under the Net Energy Metering (NEM) program. The Hybrid Energy Program consisted of the 61 kW PV system and an efficient lighting retrofit combined to offset 87% of the facility's energy usage. The PV system was installed at no upfront cost through EI's Non-Profit Energy Pathfinder program.

A significant Energy Efficiency "Win-Win-Win" project for Gebbers Farms of Brewster, WA, the Environment and Energy Industries. This project will reduce Gebber's utlity cost by over 2,000,000 kWh per year, offset 1,600 tons of CO2 annually and 50% of the project cost will be funded by incentives, USDA Grants and EPAct 2005 Tax Deductions. The project has an overall simple payback of 3.0 years.

In continuance of EI's long term relationship with First Hawaiian Bank, we have been contracted to increase the efficiency of the air conditioning at the Maite, Guam facility. This first phase of energy efficiency work will focus on the cooling towers, air handling units and vending machines. The project will provide over 85,000 kWh of electrical reduction and provide an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) over 40%.

May 2011 - The Kahala Nui, One of the Premier Senior Residences in Hawaii, has selected Energy Industries to complete a review of the existing cogeneration system and compare operational cost versus alternative efficient domestic hot water heating options.

April 2011 - The County of Maui has awarded Energy Industries the contract to complete comprehensive Energy Efficiency Lighting Retrofits at multiple fire stations, senior centers and community centers. Over 12% of the project cost will be paid by energy incentives and will reduce the County's electricity usage by over 360,000 kWh every year.

March 2011 - Castle Medical Center (CMC), Kailua, HI and Energy Industries (EI) Agree to Start on an Ambitious Venture to Take Control of CMC's growing Energy Cost. CMC and EI will complete $2.7 million in energy efficiency upgrades to reduce over 1.2 million kWh. Over 25% of the project cost will be paid through Enhanced Incentive Funding through Hawaii Energy, the local third party DSM incentive provider.

January 2011 - The T12 Busters are coming! A T12 lamp is an old flourescent lamp that is 1-1/2" in diameter. The Federal Government is requiring the phase-out of T12 lamps and magnetic ballasts. These lamps have a shorter life and burn up to 50% more energy! Call us to get them out of your facilities!

January 2011 - Energy Industries will be presenting at the Ontario Renewable - Energy Summit. Come visit our booth and see the Energy Industries presentation on Thursday, 1/27, on the technical and financial process of doing an Energy Efficiency Project at the Murakami Produce Co. facility in Ontario, Oregon.

January 2011 - In follow up to the successful benchmarking and Energy Star labeling of the Hines managed Gateway Oaks I, II, III & IV, Energy Industries will be conducting Energy Audits on two Hines managed properties. ASHRAE III Energy audits will be conducted at the Gate Way Oaks buildings in Sacramento, CA and the Alameda de las Pulgas office buildings in San Mateo, CA.

January 2011 - Recent contracts with Ontario Produce Co., Inc., Andrew Seed Co. and Baker Packing Co. will continue Energy Industries' efforts in Eastern Oregon to work with businesses to increase their operational efficiency and reduce utility costs.

December 2010 - HONBLUE and EI partnered together in 2010 to implement energy conservation measures that have reduced their energy consumption by over 20%. A large PV array and lighting retrofit will reduce production of over 5,250,000 lbs of CO2.

November 2010 - Energy Industries welcomes Jamie Lynn Bussin to the EI team as our Energy Rebate Analyst. Bussin will report out of Energy Industries’ San Francisco office. She will manage the utility, state and federal rebate, grant and tax incentive application and approval processes in all territories. Her areas of responsibility will encompass all phases of Energy Industries lighting, mechanical and renewable projects.

November 2010 - Energy Industries is completing the change out and energy efficiency upgrade of the chiller plant and cooling towers at the Waikiki Resort Hotel.

October 2010 - Energy Industries welcomes Jess Coykendall to the EI Family! Jess is an Energy Specialist working out of our Seattle branch. He has worked in the energy efficiency field for over 7 years and comes to EI with an impressive list of successful energy efficiency projects in both the commericial and industrial sectors. Jess joins the Pacific Northwest team with the task of continued expansion of EI's presence and services in this area.

October 2010 - Energy Industries will be conducting a Retro-Commissioning Study of the St. Francis Winery & Vineyards located in Santa Rosa, CA. The Study will target electrical and NG reductions within the facility.

October 2010 - The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) has awarded Energy Industries a 2nd multi-state contract to provide Energy Audits on 55 Federal facilities as part of the BPA Energy Smart Federal Partnership.

September 2010 - Energy Industries has been awarded a contract from the Bonneville Power Authority (BPA) to provide 1) verification of the EnergySmart Grocer (ESG) Energy Efficiency measures and report discrepancies; 2) auditing of T-12 lamps with magnetic ballast at each location, across four states in the Pacific Northwest.
