HONOLULU, HAWAII (July 20, 2009) – Energy Industries Corporation, a leading national energy services company specializing in energy-efficiency announced today that Hubert Chang will join the company as President and Chief Executive Officer. Chang, a veteran investment banker specializing in clean energy has been tapped to lead the company as it continues its national growth and expansion.

Chang will assume responsibilities currently held by Darren T. Kimura who has served as the company’s Chief Executive Officer since founding the company in 1994 and by Miles Kubo who has served as the company’s President since 2006. Kimura will continue as Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Kubo will continue as Chief Operating Officer and become Executive Vice President of the company’s newly established energy finance division.

Founded in 1994 as a Hawaii company, Energy Industries has grown and expanded its energy conservation and renewable energy service offerings to customers throughout the country.  As energy-efficiency has become a key policy matter within both public and private sectors the company has projected significant corporate growth. “We believe that adding Hubert’s skills and experience to the team will accelerate the growth of the company by increasing resources and expanding our service capacity. It will help us achieve our long-term corporate goals,” expressed Kimura. 

“Demand for energy-efficient buildings and clean renewable energy has grown considerably,” added Kubo. “Hubert’s involvement at this time will vastly broaden the reach of Energy Industries – the timing is excellent.”

Chang’s career spans over 16 years in finance having served as a Director of Clean Energy and Semiconductor Investment Banking practice at Merrill Lynch & Company and most recently as Managing Director of Clean Energy Investment Banking at America’s Growth Capital. Chang holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and MS in Engineering from Stanford University.

Hawaii: the State of Clean Energy. Tonights show will highlight an interview with Ryan Wada, President of Quality General Inc. Ryan will be talking about the 2008 Hybrid PV and Lighting project that Energy Industries completed at their Aiea facility.

A significant Energy Efficiency "Win-Win-Win" project for Gebbers Farms of Brewster, WA, the Environment and Energy Industries. This project will reduce Gebber's utlity cost by over 2,000,000 kWh per year, offset 1,600 tons of CO2 annually and 50% of the project cost will be funded by incentives, USDA Grants and EPAct 2005 Tax Deductions. The project has an overall simple payback of 3.0 years.
